Today is your day to examine my Ipsy lip balms. In my own first post for the August Ipsy handbag I demonstrated you the lip balm I got with my bag. Then a friend of mine who got a different balm in her handbag sent hers to me to review as well. So a delicacy is got by you, two lip balm reviews. The first one I’ll talk about is the one that came in my bag.
You’re the Balm in Green Apple by Absolute. This is a nice feeling lip balm, it is light, more a lip gloss actually. It helps to keep my lips properly hydrated and isn’t sticky. In addition, it smells and tastes excellent. It is not something I’d normally buy but also for several reasons.
The pot isn’t conducive to tucking into my jeans pocket and taking beside me. The tin is about an inch thick and about 1.5 inches across, so it is large fairly. It has a good fit so takes two hands to open. My last container criticism is that it is a canister, so I have to swipe my finger across it and then across my lips. This leaves my finger very and sticky and is unattractive to do if you are in a group situation. One more thing I don’t look after is that when I tried googling the manufacturer I couldn’t see them online.
When I get one of these new make of anything I love to read more about that item on the company website. If the manufacturer of the product has a website they keep it perfectly hidden. Two more strikes from this product are that two of its ingredients are Aspartame and Petrolatum.
I am not somebody who requires my makeup to be all pure, organic but there are really much better choices than petroleum byproducts and artificial sweeteners in a lip balm. Aspartame is a sweetener. Do we actually need sweetened lip gloss? In case your product tastes bad enough you are feeling the need to sweeten it, it’s time to reformulate the product maybe? Aspartame is a known migraine trigger to numerous people and does not have any cosmetic value, why is it within?

I give the product 3 stars. It can its job but there are options out there for me better. Next up is the lip balm my pal got in her Ipsy bag. She is sensitive to Rosemary, which is one of the substances in the product so sent her sample to me. That is Jersey Shore Sun’s Mongongo Nutrient Dense Anti-aging lip conditioner in Mandarin Green Orange Ginger.
No, don’t worry, as as I can tell it isn’t that Jersey Shoreline considerably. I REALLY like this product. It continues my lips soft and moisturized without being sticky. It smells and tastes good. On top of that, none of my concerns about the prior product are concerned with this one.
The product will come in a traditional pipe form so is easy to stay in a pocket and apply one handed without getting your fingers all sticky. There are not one but two websites on this deal. Yes, that’s right, this one is Organic! I realize I said previously that I didn’t insist upon my products being organic but that doesn’t imply I don’t enjoy it when these are. The third concern I had developed about the prior product was about some of the ingredients.
All of the elements in that one is often recognizable. The only one I needed to research was Mongongo essential oil. It originates from the seed of the Manketti tree which expands in sub-Saharan Africa. It can be used for safety, reduced the amount of inflammation and irritation, and it is used due to its long-term stability in formulations. The fruit and seeds have been consumed for more than 100 years by individuals and animals of Africa, so it may be very safe. The product I give 5 superstars. I’d definitely buy it again.
