Shine Through Winning Awards

As a public relations consultant I used to be very thrilled to win a meeting Communication prize by the general public Relations Industry of Australia. To become acknowledged by my peers in that competitive industry was such as a stamp of authorization for the effort and dedication I had developed shown to the industry.

As an outcome I could put, award winning PR specialist, on my marketing materials, place the prize in my office and impress future potential clients generally. Since then I have been involved with other business awards as I believe they may be an important part of the public relations process.

When I was young and commencing a modeling career, I instinctively knew that to be successful I’d have to be well-known so I came into model quests and beauty pageants as I knew that was a good way to be noticed. I did win lots of contests and as a result had an effective modeling career for several years. NOW I AM a member of the National Speakers Association of Australia and am spending so much time to achieve my next level of accreditation.

I wish that one year at our convention and honors night I will get a CSP prize because I’ll know then that I’ve reached the pinnacle of the career. The Public Relations Society of America, National Speakers Association and other associations across the world hold industry honors to emphasize and promote their individual associations and also to raise the pub and quality of work that are performed. Telstra, Fuji Xerox, and a variety of big corporate and business organizations and smaller companies keep honors or sponsor honors. Most industry associations hold awards to discover those within the association. A couple of awards of all types, think mass media, literature, hairdressing, sport, film, music, fashion, architectureĀ…and the list on goes.

I put honours under the group of special events. Special occasions are a tactic or tool of public relations. Yes, it could also be tagged promotion, or sarcomas but whatever you call it getting into an honor or hosting an honors wedding ceremony can create better knowing of your business. Why would these organizations spend time and resources with an award rather than their core business? Perhaps these are some reasons why you should spend time (and frequently dollars) submitting an award application while you think you might not win. Another good reason could it be gives you the opportunity to look at your work through fresh eye.

Having to answer questions and be succinct about why you need to be a champion could just help you think that you already are. Whether you’re in a small company or work within an industry, consider that to achieve your career it does help to be recognized and to be observed as successful.
